Start with the business question
Decide whether the report is answering a question about reach, enquiries, purchases, or follow-up. A single dashboard should not treat every metric as equally important.
Separate activity from outcomes
Impressions and clicks describe exposure and response. They do not automatically demonstrate a qualified enquiry or a sale. Keep those stages visible so the conversation stays grounded.
Include operational context
Campaign data can tell a different story from the sales team. Review both: the offer, landing page, response time, lead context, and any changes during the period.
Explain measurement limits
Browser settings, consent, platform attribution, and incomplete integrations can affect the data. A useful report makes those limits clear instead of presenting every figure as exact.
End with a decision
Identify the next test or improvement, why it is worth doing, and how it will be reviewed. Reporting should help prioritize work.
Planning an implementation? The next step is to connect these questions to your own business, website, and available resources.
